Anna, the new Guyana boa. Fresh pickup

Picked this little girl up for 150, though she is small, hitting the scale at only 500 grams! so I got a bit of work cut out for me. The guy I got her from (as well as a chunky female ball python) needed some cash and was looking to get rid of the animals.

She is a pretty one though, hope she eats and starts to pack on some weight

And of course, what type of picture post of a boa would this be with out a tail shot

Im going to let her settle in for a week in quarantine (which I am thinking may be closer to two months so she can get some size on her) and offer her a small thawed rat. See if I can get some meat on her bones.

I really like the tail on her.
Best of luck getting her up to weight.

Remember that BCC grow slowly and seem to be more apt to regurges as babies than other species (been there with mine =P), so I'd recommend going slow on the feeding size.

    But she's really pretty! Congrats!

Just a quick update. Was going to feed today, but a couple days ago, Sunday, the little girl turned blue, so it looks like she is going to miss chow time this week. But on the bright side, with a fresh skin on a red-tail that means camera time... going to attempt to go macro on her

Re: Anna, the new Guyana boa. Fresh pickup

Just another quick update. She did shed and she is a beauty. I do need to get into her house and pick her up in a couple days to remove a bit of stuck shed on her tail that I did not see until just after I feed her.

I would have shot a few photos of her but first thing was first, and that was get a meal down her. This morning I placed a small rat to thaw in the room with her. A short time after this, I had a good feeling, at first I just sat the rats to thaw on the top of the tank, I came in a bit later and she was right up at the screen, so I placed the rats to thaw a bit further out of the way. This was a good sign though and just a few minutes ago, I offered the small rat to her, and she took it, no problem

Down the hatch and still looking for more. Since they are a little more prone to regurge I am just going to leave her be for a couple days and hope she keeps the meal down.

Hope to grab some pics of her in a couple days
