    Regurge or poop?

What does regurge look like? Is it shaped like the rat with similar colors etc? I can't tell if my snake pooped or regurged lol

Poop honestly should look just like poop. There will be urates which are sometimes white and or yellow. Throw up you could tell, it isn't fully digested usually slimy or runny looking and sometimes can see parts of the rodent.

    Re: Regurge or poop?

Regurges are hard to mistake. They retain some parts or shape of the rodent as well as color, are really slimy, and the smell can knock you out!

Poo is usually dark with no discernible shape and often has a urate with it which is yellow to white.

    Re: Regurge or poop?

A tag on question...hate to start a new thread for something so silly.

I noticed for a couple of days my BP was staying on the cool side, where usually she goes onto the warm side at night and the cool side during the day.

Anyways, after handling her she started to dive back into the warm hide and then stopped, back out, and went back to the cool side. I knew something had to be wrong and suspected poop, and sure enough when I lifted the hide a little poop was hidden and stuck to the inside.

Is that common? Somehow I did not think they would be so fastideous, but she apparently is.

    Re: Regurge or poop?

Heh... a few of mine are the same way or worse. In fact, I can tell when there's hidden poo in the cage just by seeing how the snake is arranged in the tank. My Ghost corn male is the worst - he actually presses himself against the glass in as small a pile as he can (which isn't very small for a 4.5' snake) on the side opposite the mess.

    Re: Regurge or poop?

Ok, then I doubt it's regurge since it didn't look like the rodent, nor smelled that bad. It must be poop then, although quite disproprotionate lol.

    Thanks!

Thanks Argenta, I didn't think I was imagining it. Now I will know (and I am starting to see why everyone uses plastic hides..lol).

NP And yeah, plastic is KING! Especially with messy corn snakes.
