    Anyone ever visit NERD?

I got my first ball python about a month ago, and ever since then I love looking at and learning about snakes! I've never seen any snake besides a corn, ball, and red tail boa in person and I've never seen any morphs (except in the pics posted here). So, I was thinking of making a trip to NERD just to look around, see whats out there (def. not too buy, well... maybe supplies). Has anyone ever been there? Is it worth the trip (it's a little over 2 hours from me)? Are the animals even on display, or are they kept in back? Thanks for any info!

I saw those threads. They are actually what gave me the idea. But I wasn't sure if everyone can see all those animals, or if they just had the hook-ups to get in back.

You need to call and schedule a tour if you are in the area.

Ya deffinately schedule a tour before you go. that way you can see all the cool morphs. In the main display area they have lots of snakes but not so many morphs. O and it is deffinately worth the trip.

    Re: Anyone ever visit NERD?

I dunno, i was interested in buying fancier morphs than what they had on display. I told someone and they got me someone else (andy i think) and he showed me pretty much everything in ball pythons - he was awesome!

next time i went it was a little less exciting. Someone else was showing me and he wasn't as enthusiastic about it - i actually felt kindof like i was in the way or something. The first time i got a het pied male. The second time i left empty-handed.

If you get the one-on-one customer service, it can definitely be an awesome experience, if a bit hard on the old wallet lol.

Make sure to make an appointment before going so that you can see the cool stuff. There are animals in the pet store part but it's mostly normal and hets. They do have bloods, kings, hognose, amazons and such in there too. I would suggest going with some loot, cause you will not leave empty handed

PM KLG (Kara) and tell her when you'd like to come - tell her you're a member here on the site. I'm sure she'll hook you up!

True story - she'll schedule something where you get to go upstairs, where the REALLY god stuff is

I live about 3 + hours, and it's worth the trip to go upstairs. Last time I went we were shown an exclusive, "I'll have to kill you if you tell anyone what the genetics to this snake are" (-Kara, lol) snake -
Besides amazing ball morphs, there's a plethora of other reptiles and amphibians, a beautiful fish shop, puppies! lol - and just a million things you have never seen before in your entire life.

One of my favs. is "Sharpie", the pied And learning about pacman frogs!
