    Feeding tongs/bps

Where do I order those feeding tongs?

i had a small rat situation just now...its always something different with them for me.

The kind the 8ballpython guy used in that video...those looked pretty slick.

have you tried midwest tongs? http://www.tongs.com/shop/index.php?GrID=40

There are probably some other places that sell only a select few, but Midwest sells a ton of different sizes.

    Animal Capture Equipment. Love 'em!

I don't use hemostats when feeding live. I use them to hold my boa's feeder rabbit, and possibly an already-dead mouse that died from overheating(275 mice in one tub, Texas summer, you get the picture) that is still good to feed off.

I like to introduce prey items while they are calm. Holding them with tongs just induces unnecessary pain and stress, which they can then take out on your snake. It's just something I prefer and my snakes do well with me just dropping it into their tub. Usually the mouse doesn't even hit the floor.

    Re: Feeding tongs/bps

Thanks those were the links I needed.

My bp showed interest in a small rat after a 10 day fast. So i dropped it in. Then refused the meal, so after 5-10 min when I knew she was not interested I grabbed the rat from the far corner of the tank & it sunk its teeth in me pretty good, then the rat dropped into the fresh water dish, & ran into the hide where my bp just went.

Not good, all I kept thinking was how i heard once that rats go right for the eyes...terrible i kno cuz i Love my bp.

That feeding video on youtube from 8ball seems like it would solve that from happening again. Would be good to have a pair handy just in case...

    Thanks guys

It never hurts to have those tools around Abby. I have hemostats here that I haven't used in ages but it's nice to have them here if they are needed.

    Re: Feeding tongs/bps

i acctually saw a pair @ PetSmart not that that's anyones fave store but i was strollin thru (and saw the CUTEST lil reduced baby... aww poor petstore snakey...) just to see what kind of things they had in their isle (as i was out of state and don't have ANY good petstore, just the tiny one on the corner ) and saw all kinds of stuff, Tongs included. take a stroll round your local petstore and you might find what you're lookin for.

and i find once a rodent knows you have it in for them, and you're tryna feed them to yer snake, they hate you been there!!!
