Question
Just bought a few new pythons from a rep show. How long do you think I should wait til I feed them? The breeder said it had been at least a week for each.

Well Dwight [hehe The Office]
A week sounds good, but make sure during this week you try not to disturb the snake too much....I know it will be VERY hard, but it's important for the snake to become well acclimated to cut down on stress so that you have a better chance of have a successful first feed! Good Luck and Welcome!

Re: Question
Man, that's obviously a less fun answer than I was hoping for, lol. But you're saying to wait a week or so? I brought em home sunday... so sometime next week. I feed my others tonight so I was going to just start them on the same cycle, but if need be I can always wait.

Yup...you will be happier in the long run, be sure he has water and a HIDE BOX. And skip him on this feeding cycle and give him a shot next week, if he doesnt go for you then....wait another week. You dont want to offer him something day after day after day ...itll only stress him out. Goodluck and we like pics!

I usually offer my snakes something to eat within 48 hours of getting them home. 9 out of 10 times they eat for me. The ones that don't I give another week and offer again.
The prevailing wisdom is to let them rest a week without being bothered during that time, but it really depends on the snake. Some tolerate it, some don't.
