Pos-het question
Hi everyone, I saw an interesting ad on KS today.
This person crossed a 100% het clown with a 50% pos-het clown and is listing the babies as 66% pos-het clown.
Now, I thought you got 66% pos-hets from 100% het x 100% het.
It seems like you would have to do two separate punnet squares for this. One where the 50% pos-het is actually a het, here you get the 66% babies. In the other punnet square you would have to do where the 50% pos-het is NOT a het, here you get 50% babies. Now you would have to average those two results, and get 56.5% or something??
Can someone please clarify???
Thanks!

Re: Pos-het question
The olny way they are 66% het is if he proved the poss het that then makes it a 100% het and the normal off spring then are 66%.

Re: Pos-het question
Okay, sorry for posting! I re-read the ad and it turns out they did produce a clown from this pairing, meaning the het was actually a het. So these are 66% babies.
I was thrown off because they still referred to the, now actual het, as a pos-het.
