Can you guys show me some of your tub housing, including the heating sources and in the inside and how u use heating lamps if you do.. thanks

Well, I can't show pictures of the heating, which is all UTHs, since it's under the tubs... but here are a few pix of my tubs from different angles:

I use lamps in the winter to raise ambient temps, otherwise they are as they are.

so in the summer you dont use a lamp?

Nope, not directly anyway. I have a single lamp shining over the area where the enclosures are to increase 'day' lighting (it's on a timer BTW), but nothing directly over each tub except in winter when the boost is needed.

Of course, my BP enclosures each have two UTHs one on each side controlled by separate t-stats...but the cool side hardly clicks on during summer time.

I don't use lamps on any of my reptile tubs no matter the season. Everything is heated with UTH's.

The only thing I use lamps on are some of my scorpion tanks, where heat from above is better than an UTH.

I wouldn't use lamps at all...except this is Colorado and I can't afford to heat my apartment above 72 in winter. Hence the need for a boost to the ambient temps.

o ok....... well i plan on gettin soon wat size tub do u think i would need the snake hatched today...and he said after they feed a couple times and shed i can get it

You can get a 6qt or a 12qt for a hatchling. I prefer 12qt myself since they can grow out of the 6 fast.

They're not going to grow out of the 6qt that fast.. I have snakes under 500g in 6qts and they are quite satisfied in their surroundings. 15qt tubs are fine, but if the snake is tiny, then they would do alot better in the 6qt.

wouldnt it be alot harder to control the temps in a 6 qt container? even in a 12 qt?
