prolapse hemipene

Hazard has been with one of our female normals on three seperate occassions, given a 3-5 day rest between being with her. Today I noticed when they seperated (they were together for a couple hours) he has a prolapse hemipene. i just wanted to find out if that is ok and is it a normal occurance.

I have seen that when the break a lock prematurly sometimes the males peins with still be extruded for a short time. However more than a few second or even minutes I would think warents a look. I have heard (but never seen) that they drag them to help stimulate the female so there may be some of that going an too. If it still like that for more than an hour I'd say have it looked at by a vet just for safety sake.

Coolio had one (my pastel) that I didn't catch in time and had to have it surgically removed. Defianately keep an eye on it and make sure that it doesn't dry out. Keep it moist.

Thank you both.. Ill be sure to check it again when I get back home. I had posted the thread before leaving for work and will be back home in a bit. Sure hope he pulls it back in... If nothing else I will contact my vet this afternoon and keep it moist in the meantime. We had some people moving things around our condo near the racks and its very possible they unlocked prematurely. When I saw it I did go ahead and remove him from her bin and put him back in his rack.. I thought maybe he needed more of a rest. Ill certainly keep a very close eye on it.. I dont want anything to happen to him.
