    Update on Kaya

I wanted to give everyone an update on Kaya and I. I was having fear issues with handling her. Well I have been handling her everyday for the past 3 days and everything has been going great. She is very mellow. Sometimes she wraps around my arm, probably likes the body heat and other times she likes to crawl and explore going from hand to hand. My room mates tried to get her to crawl to them off me and maybe the sent was different because she withdrew the first time. Also she wanted to get away from me after I had just gotten out of the shower, so I put her back. I work from 3pm to 1:30am and so I like to handle her in the mornings. Could this stress her out considering they are nocturnal? Also I switched her to f/t food and couldn't seem to get the tweezers right and dropped it. She went over, sniffed it, found the head and ate it. She didnt constrict at all. Is this ok? Should I use the tongs even if she will just eat them to make he think its alive? I was still feeding in the cage and some bark was stuck to it and so a slowly picked the pieces off with the tongs as she swallowed. I am glad she is not a hard feeder. They were even a different color then what she is used too. So should a use the tongs or go without?

They would probably prefer to be held when they are already up....I don't much like people yanking me out of bed. But once they become accustomed to it, it's probably not that big of a deal.

That's great she ate FT without problems!! In general I would offer it wit the tongs, see if she will strike. If not, you can leave it with her undisturbed for a period of time. It sounds like she's one of those that will just go ahead and eat it without the movement, and that's great.
