When I first got him, he was in a 15g long tank, and about two weeks ago I moved him into a tub set up (got a rack system from RBI ). One of my corns refused his meal (which he does once in a while so Im not worried about him missing) and I decided "what the heck, let me see if Goliath will eat it". I put the mouse in, slid the tub closed, was sitting on the couch reading a book and waiting to see if he'd eat, and heard two rapid thuds come from his tub.
I peeked in to see him constricting the mouse. It took all my self control to slowly slide the tub back into place and not jump around and yell at the top of my lungs. I must be doing something right!! I can't stop grinning I'm so happy. YAY! now to feed him and let him gain weight back.
Congrats

thanx Joe.. I still can't believe he finally ate. After not eating for so long, do you think I should feed him another mouse tomorrow or Friday? thats regular feeding day here, at least for the corns. Or would what he ate be alright until next weeks regular feeding time?

I would not push him .If the mouse left a lump in his belly that you can see easily he should be fine until next week

Re: He finally ate!!!
Picky eaters seem to do much better in smaller enclosures. I have a 1200 gram girl that stopped eating in her CB70(41 quart) tub so I switched her to a 32 quart and she ate two weanling rats after a few days. Privacy/security can be a BP's best friend

Re: He finally ate!!!
well I peeked in.. and no, doesn't look like it left a lump at all. It was a small/med mouse.. the only size the pet store had at the moment. Which I guess is a good thing, now that he ate. It wont stress his system out too much, and if he wants I'll offer him another small/med sized one again on friday. if he doesn't eat, I'll just hold onto it until the following week.. (love that spare 5 gal tank for those extra feeding mice).

After not eating for so long, I'd go slowly and wait at least 5 days...
