    Re: Babies are perched.

Thanks guys, been a few years since I had baby chondros in the house. Man, it is awesome. I've got another pairing getting ready to go for summer.
I raised 7 from a hatchling, so it's really cool. I took my time finding the right male, cuz I wanted a "match" so to speak. Jedi sort of fell into my lap and was perfect.

How long does it take them to perch once they hatch? I really enjoy looking at chondros, but don't know much about them.

What would they do if there was nothing for them to perch on?

    Re: Babies are perched.

They generally perch very soon after fully emerging from the egg if there is a perch available. If there is not one they will coil in a somewhat circular pattern like most snakes. morelia viridis, being the most arboreal of pythons always are looking upwards for the most part...
