OMG... ggggrrrr I want to harm them a lot painfully!!
I had gone into this new store that opened up about 2 or more months ago... cages were TINY, for birds, and small animals.. Think 15 gallon tall size w/ about 12 or more parakeets and other types in each plastic curve fronted THING...
Then about 2 weeks later they get in reptiles, I wander in, and look. They are about to try to feed them for the first time.. probably for the snakes AND the employee, so I asked what type of F/T they have.. they had 3-4 small barely warmed pinkies.. So I mentioned some changes they needed for the substrate, and that they needed a water dish.. and that they would need to be fed seperately or they could eat each other...
I wandered out.. not happy.. but at least they were trying...I went back a month later there abouts... I noticed that they weren’t in the hide, they were out and about In daylight.. and that they were thin.. triangular thin..
I shook my head and walked away...
WELL today I had to go back in to get a nicely made and priced kritter keeper type thing for a tarantula, so I thought i would get some more crickets too.. they are right next to the reptiles....
I just couldn’t stand it.
And I saw them....tiny, thin, one in a very bad shed...All out of the hide and piled on one another in a 5 gallon sized pull out tray/cage thing.
The nice employee who was helping me.. I quietly asked her what was up w/ the snakes, and that they were dangerously, very dangerously thin.. she said, "They haven’t eaten since they have been here... except one. I try every day or so..."
They have been there for at least 6 weeks, and were probably CH unstarted (eating wise) when shipped to them...
And she is afraid of them.. so she dangles a pinkie in front of them in hopes of one taking it...
Well one does.. and that one was actually pretty well off considering. "He steals their food," she said...

Now these aren’t newly hatched babies.. but they are smaller than most I have seen pics of...
(Harmful thoughts rising)
The first is just sooo thin...

Notice the quarter...

I am wondering what is up w/ the belly scales?

This one may.. be a granite type.. notice the red circled areas...

And notice the bad, bad shed...

I didn't pay for them.. i talked to the owner who didn't want snakes in the first place.. either her hubby OR an employee
thought it would be a good idea... GRRRR

I did get food into them tonight, with coaxing, so they have had one small meal. i will let them settle in now..
