    Striking nic boa

I have posted previously that I have a little nic boa that strikes frequently. I understand that boas can be a bit nippy when young, but I think I have figured out why mine is being so very nippy. I have realized that she doesn't like my bracelet. She also strikes often at my husband that has his nipples pierced and very rarely wears a shirt around the house. My bracelet is silver and shiny as are my husbands nipple rings, and my bracelet is loose and shakes and moves when I do. Is there any reason for her to be sensitive or especially fearful of shiny or bright obects?

They might be. I think snakes are sensitive to vibrations, sounds and light. If your bracelet is moving around, its causing vibrations, sounds, and changes in light. This could frighten her and make her think that something is attacking her. Just my two cents. I have really no clue.

Now that's interesting. I assume the hubby has started wear a shirt and you have removed the bracelet(s) when working with her?

LOL....yes we have and she seems to be much more well taken to letting us come near her that way.

    That's crazy.
I've noticed that my boas and balls will strike at me sometimes when I have my hair down (it's long and dark) but they never strike at me when I have my hair tied back. I figure they think I'm a big hot and hairy animal coming to get them (they're right!)
Maybe they get freaked out by the jewelry. Do an experiment over time and record your results. Always something to learn about these guys...
