    rough scales post shed

Has anyone ever noticed their BPs to feel rough after a shed?

My little guy just shed a couple of days ago and he seems to have lost his smoothness. Just wondering if maybe he wasn't quite ready to shed or something? I haven't experienced this with my other BPs.

Yes, Mine had rough looking and feeling scales after a near perfect shed. I kept a close eye on her. Then just last night , the shed after that one her scales came back to normal and she looked great. I guess I would have to ask if there are any "sharpish" things that yours could have rubbed against to possibly cause this? Also in worse cases mites could have got under the scales so I might check for them as well.

I guess without seeing the "rough" spots its hard to say..

    best of luck

My black blood will often have a patch or two of rough scales where she's rubbed against something. It'll go away with the next shed.

Thanks everyone. He doesn't have spots of roughness, it's all over. It's nothing you can see, he looks perfectly normal, but as soon as you feel him you can tell a difference. There isn't anything sharp in his viv. The only thing rough in there are 2 well rounded river rocks (which i use to prop up his hides so he can get under them).

I'll check him over really well for mites.
