dinker projects worth the hype? +question
the post about the amazing dinker project got me thinking...
are the "dinker" projects really worth it?
do you have any normal x normal pairings on purpose?
what makes a "dinker" (markins/colors/exc)?
do you have any dinker projects?
what were your results?
any other comments are more then welcome!

thanks for the comment.. thats what i thought. my other half however needed a bit more convincing before "Wasting" a female by breeding her with our "wanna be dinker" male ("high" gold-very light head-exc)..
Can you make a reduced, more reduced or is it a luck of the draw? What do YOU look for in your possible "dinker" projects?

Breed the dinkers into morphs. LOL
I have a few dinkers laying around, one is just a nice blackback female, another is a VERY light banded female, and a third is what has been deemed possible "apricot" by our very own Jasballs.
They should all three be ready to go this coming season, so I'll let you know how that all turns out.

I'd kinda like to dink around with my male normal, he's the color of a light m&m now, and as a young ball he got progressively lighter with each shed.
If I ever see a female like him, I'll snap her up...otherwise I dunno. I wouldn't expect anything other than maybe some nicer lighter color ball normals.

They definitely are worth it...Look what can come out of it. SuperStripe, GoldFinger etc...

I guess, something you think that is different or odd about the snake, and might be worthwhile playing around with.

Re: dinker projects worth the hype? +question
This year I bred a dinker female to a (what I consider a) subtle morph (genetic banded) and I bred a dinker male to a normal female.
I decided to go that route due to the looks of the opposite sex than the dinker.
I could have just bred my pastel to the females and for sure have a chance at a morph but nothing is more exciting than a dinking project.

See Ashley, thats what i was thinking.. I have a pastel who bred to one of my normals, he was going to go in with the other two normals who are ready but im thinking im going to try the "dinker" banded-reduced-light head-high gold "normal" to sidney, my other banded female.. worth a try
