So i went to the LPS for a rat and.....

Alright so tuesday is my feeding day and i jumped in the car and drove to the lps here in town. Well i pull up and i see this guy walking out with a box, i figured it was snake food so i asked him what he was feeding.

He says a ball python.

So im like hey thats what im doin here as well, gettin my ball some food.

He says hey come check out my snake.

I say, Id love to man but i gotta hurry back to feed and gotta get to work.

He says, Oh no i have my snake in the car with me.

Hmmmm, i wonder. so i walk to his car, well van, and he pops the rear door up and he has his snake in its glass cage sitting in the back. I was like why did you bring the whole cage up here?

He says oh its a classroom pet, im a biology teacher at the highschool, and its easier for me to bring the snake up here than the rat into the school.

The cage was absolutely disgusting, His water bowl was completely dry, the snakes bedding looked like it was completely made up of bad shed and urates. No hides. A heat rock. It was really bad.

I didnt want to be rude and say what was really on my mind, so i told him that his cage needed some improvement and gave him this site to do some research.

Oh and after i told him about all the gr8 people here on bp.net the guy throws a much to small rat in the cage, hops in the front set and drives off.

But a highschool BIOLOGY teacher who cannot take care of one ball python.... common. My kids are def. not going to government schools, but thats a different subject.

Wow.... I really hope he seeks out help in the husbandry department. Sometimes people think they know best. Especially when the animal has just survived so far.

yeah i doubt he will, he seemed kinda dumb. He said it was a rescue from someone who couldnt take care of it.

Oh yeah connie, still waitin on that check. Thats another issue with the government. lol.

LOL, no hurry. Mine hasn't shown up yet either. Although they pulled a sneaky trick. Had a nice envelope show up the other day, it said in big bold red lettering "Stimulus Check".

I opened it and it was a letter letting me know I should be getting a check.

That's the second time they've told me that.

Sad At least maybe your talking to him will make him think more about this all and improve things. I hope so..
