    Equine Fresh

Hey guys and dolls, where can I find this miracle elixir? Just wondering, because I don't think there is any around me. I will order online, but I just can't find it!

I'd prefer to order this and rat food all at once, if you have a source...also, does this do the trick for the babies, too? Can I have all my rat tubs filled with this?

To find a store near you, please call 1-800-480-6631 and we will get you connected.

Thats what the equine fresh site says for local stores, also if you have a tractor supply store close they carry it.

You can also look for Woody Pet, its the same stuff.
They have a dealer list here: http://www.woodypet.com/dealer.html
    for online and off.

As far as using it with the babies, the only thing I stopped doing is using it in with mamas getting ready to drop. The fine shavings it creates seem to cling to wet babies a bit much to suit me. Currently though for cost efficiency and odor control (over 100 rats in my living room thing) we mix it with pine shavings.

We get ours from Tractor Supply Company, although it's not called Equine Fresh... our variant is something like Lone Star Bedding or something. It's all the same -- compressed pine pellets.

    What about Woody Pet?

and I think I read somewhere that there is a wood pellet cat litter that is similar to the Equine Fresh.

I'm perfectly willing to help, as I tend to ship a lot, but shipping is likely to be $12-15 or so for one package of it. And I can't get the actual equine fresh either, so I get Woody Pet, pay around $6 a package for it at Atwoods here. It doesn't get too much better to ship more than one package either....you'd really be better off finding anything you can use locally it would seem to me.

Try looking for feed stores, tack stores, farm supply, etc. If you can't find one, you could call a stable. Sometimes boarding stables have stores on the property, but if not they should certainly be able to tell you where you can call.

    Re: Equine Fresh

UPDATE! I went to my favorite little pet shop and for some weird reason they had like 20 brands of "equine fresh"-esque litter products. I snapped up the cozy-n-fresh with carbon. I think it should do great, we'll see...at $10 per 20lb bag, I think it's a good deal, I wonder how much it expands, we'll see...

    I'll keep you posted!

    Re: Equine Fresh

I've found that any pure 100% wood product pellets work very good like Equine fresh. Any cheap wood pellets stink and aren't worth it in my opinion (fillers, papers and other crap).

I was able to find a local mill that makes pellets and it's really cheap. Not as fine of a sawdust as equine fresh, but that may be even better as it's less dusty and NOT pine products.
