    Feeding ASFs

    For all of you who feed ASFs to your BPs are there any more concerns because of their "disposition" or do most feed prekilled.

    Re: Feeding ASFs

    before i got ASFR's my biggest concern was feeding live,would they be aggressive towards my BP's? i have found they are no more danger to my snakes than small rats.when the snake wraps them then they seem to give up and not fight back.on the other hand i find mice much more prone to biting when wrapped

    the only time i find them super aggressive is when there handled,i use 18" rubber tipped hemos for cage cleaning,feeding etc.about 2/3 of them don't mind this handling if your gentle while the other 1/3 turn and bite the hemos.

    all in all i find they are a very enjoyable to keep and i plan on breeding them as long as i have BP's.because of misinformation i don't feed them to snakes i plan on selling.

    ASFR=african soft fur rat.have fun !

    Re: Feeding ASFs

    I feed all 10 of my snakes (including a corn and a king) live asf's. have had no issues. Have had no injuries. size of the asf is determined by size of the snake. My bigger snakes eat full grown ASF's.

    The BP's that I feed my ASF's to hit them so hard and fast that the ASF's don't even have a chance to take a step in the tub.
