    blah

ugghh.. ok so first thing this mornin when i wake up... i notice the tank completely covered in fog.... and wonderin what the hell is wrong... so as i walk closer i noticed the he spilt his water bowl over and his humidity was 95 and all i kept thinkin was how long ago did he spill his water...and i was nervous to change his cage only cause i would of had to handle him and he just ate yesterday... but i couldnt have him sit in it...

so my question would be.... could he get belly rot for sittin in the dampness??

I think as long as you found it and fixed it quickly enough, you shouldn't have a problem. Just get it cleaned up, get some dry substrate in there, and if possible, a bowl he/she can't knock over... Don't fret, your snake should be fine...

Yeah, you don't necessarily have to bother the snake. Just remove as much of the wet substrate as you can and replace with dry. You can clean totally tomorrow when the snake can be moved.

As for dishes, try using a ceramic pet dish. They cannot knock those over, they're easy to clean and they look really nice.

How often do you check your snake? I check mine every morning afternoon and evening and then again at bedtime. At least.
If you check them, even twice a day, they won't get belly rot since rot takes a while to develop.

That happens alot, as long as you clean it up the same day you should be fine. Thats why I like Newspaper very easy to clean and replace, I just cleaned a few tubs this morning. Belly rot is a bacteria which need a little time to grow and probably some yucky stuff mixed in too. I'm no biologist thats for sure

There are lots of water dishes out there that are virtually un-tippable. I found some blue/green/red ones for about $4 at Walmart that have a wide base and grippy rubber bottom. There's no way to tip them.
