Re: Lasik!!!
My grandma had it about 7 years ago, when it was barely popular. she wears glasses now. LOL
But I know people who have had it recently and they drove themselves home.

Re: Lasik!!!
My husband had it done, gosh I guess it was nearly 7 years ago too! He had terrible vision (like me) and it corrected his vision to better than 20/20. Last year he had to get reading glasses, but his distance vision is still great!
He had an easy time with the surgery and with the recovery (as long as we could keep our then-2-year-old away from those patches on his eyes). Someday, it will be my turn - if I can refrain from buying new snakes long enough to save up the money!
Good luck & enjoy your new vision!

Re: Lasik!!!
My sister and brother in law had it done a couple years ago. They both had a relatively easy surgery, and both are loving the life of no glasses or contacts.
Best of luck on your surgery!

Re: Lasik!!!
My hubby Rick had it done by the same Doctor who did Tiger Woods' eyes. The procedure was fine, although they did forget about us for a little while so he had to have the dilation drops again (ugh) and Rick said it was hard to hold still for the cutting machine (mmm, razer blades cutting your eyeballs, but don't move!).
The biggest issue was that afterwards and until the next morning, Rick was SUPER OOBER DUPER no I mean REAAALLY light sensitive. We basically had to wrap a blanket around his head for the drive home and he sat in our theatre room (pitch black room, no windows) that night with just a little light leaking in from the kitchen on the other side of the house - and it was STILL painfully bright.
But the next day and since then, his eyesight has been perfect and it's been...um...4 or 5 years?

Re: Lasik!!!
I had it done over a year ago or longer and love it. They give you Valium and you won't feel any anxiety during the procedure which is just a couple of minutes per eye. Very mild discomfort during the amazingly quick procedure. I would advise taking a day to just stay home afterward but many go right to work if they work in an office environment. I wore glasse all my life and had Lasik in my 50's and love being free of glasses.

Re: Lasik!!!
I really want to get this done. I have allergies which prevent me from wearing my contacts for about 6 weeks out of the year and I just hate wearing my glasses.

Re: Lasik!!!
I would love to get it done, but I'm not sure I'm a good candidate. It helps that my new eye doctor had some sort of surgery done, and he was as myopic as I am now. I have really dry eyes, which prevents me from wearing contacts. Unfortunately, Lasik can make your eyes dryer, or at least for a few months after the surgery...so I may not be able to get it done.

Is that completely serious? After i got it done i couldn't really open my eyes cuz of the pain until i slept for a couple hours this morning. As well as right now, which is easily 7 hours post op and my vision is still cloudy and slowly clearing. Maybe they had the procedure dont different but there is no way i was driving myself home after that one.

I had been thinking about it for a long time until i met someone at my poker game who had just got it done. The next day i called and went in for an exam. Its the least you can do for perfect vision. Give them a call and get checked.
In all honesty if any of you have bad eyes it is sooo worth it to get it done. 5k seems a lot at first but the investment is for the rest of your life.
