I try to have my cool side around 83, no higher than 85. Doesn't always work, of course, with the weird weather up here... but that's the goal.

Is that what you set your t-stat to? Or is that what you temp gauge on the coolside reads?? Thanks for replying by the way

The important reading is what the thermometer says. Even better when it's supported by a temp gun. The stat should be set so it keeps those numbers where you want them.

i keep my probe taped to the UTH so i have to set the thermostat about 4 or 5 degrees higher then my desired temperature.

Ok, i set my Herpstat to 85 for the UTH under my coolside hide..hopefully that bumps the ground temp to around 80 or so.

Cool. If it doesn't, just keep adjusting the set temp until you get the desired results. There isn't one set number for everyone to set theirs to, simply because every room temp/atmosphere is different. Hope it all works out for ya!
