Amazing resilient fantastic animals !!!! and update for the Wysocki Jedi

Ok here is the back story.

I have an 06 female pastel that is getting close to breeding size. She has big plans involved for her. Any way I check my animals every day sometimes twice a day. Well about a month ago one Sunday I walked in to my snake room did my morning rat and snake check. I slid open her tub and hit the freaking roof. This is what I saw.

There appears that there was a "bur" inside the Exo-Terra cave that I had for her hide. She had rubbed up against it and cut her eye cap through to the eye. I called Adam almost in tears cause I new what this meant she would loose the eye or go blind. After a couple of days I had resided to the fact that she was going to loose site in the eye at the very least. Well I kept her tub super clean like every other day cleaning it. Well I got to noticing that she was still focusing on me and her pupil was still responsive to light so I was hope full.

She shed last night and this is how she looks now.

I am just amazed at how these animals are so resilient.

Hey Ed~ Good job!! You're right: When given the proper basic husbandry needs, these snakes are indeed resilient! I am very happy this snake has you for its keeper

Wow, she made a great recovery. I am glad things worked out. It looks like her pupil is intact, is there any scarring on the lower half of the surface? Just from looking at the pics I would guess she is seeing pretty good out of that eye. It shows what proper husbandry can do.

Did you put anything on the eye at all, or did you just leave it be?

I think this is a good post because it can show how much trauma a lil snake can go through, and still pull through perfectly fine!
