Has anyone ever read this book?? Comments
Have any of your guys read this book:
http://www.amazon.com/Ball-Python-Ad...0507430&sr=1-2
I bought this book a few days ago and read the whole thing, seemed pretty informative. Does anybody have this book, or read it?
I read the one section in here about once you get your snake, they say to leave him/her alone for 2 weeks, then once the two week adjustment period is up, assuming the snake isnt ready to go into shed, to not handle the snake until it has fed at least 4 times in a row when offered food. Then they go on to say if it appears to be feeding regularly, limit the handling to around 15 minutes a week. Then go to increase the handling time once the snake has been feeding for 3-4 months.
Does this sound like a proper way of doing things?? I heard that Phillippe de Vosjoli, Tracy Barker, & David Barker and Advanced Vivarium Systems are very reputable and super knowledgeable.

Thats one of the first books I purchased when i decided that I was getting bp's. I found it very interesting and learned a few things from it. Between this site and other books you can't go wrong. I also have his corn snake manual.

That is pretty much the standard advice that is given. The Barker's of VPI have also written what is commonly viewed as the absolute best book on ball pythons that costs about $80 or so. Kevin McCurley of NERD (a former disciple of the Barkers) has also written a great book that costs about $57 or so. I did buy your book and all the ball python books that I could find from www.alibris.com a used book site where paperback books are available for as little as 99 cents.

I followed that same advice. Too much handling too soon may stress your ball and cause it to not eat. Getting it to feel at home enough to eat consistently is first priority. Then you can gradually handle it.
