Rocky Mountain Reptile Expo..if you don't like tons of pics..not for you!

So the Rocky Mountain Reptile Expo was today..I took WAY too many pictures, so bear with me here!

That Bee was NICE!! Very bright colors!

Did you see the Adult Caramel Albino male behind these that was selling for $1200? I wasn't away from the booth more than a minute, but when I came back, it was already sold... That's a crazy low price! There's a 300g male on kingsnake right now going for $2500 (which is what the price should be!) I hate how people shoot down the prices on morphs just to make a quick buck.

I know... that Bee was the BOMB! I held her and didn't want to give her back!

The Caramel and Faded Albino were sold by my dear friend Rich. He's my pre-vet man and source of at least half my snakes. Great guy.

Every time I was in the store I held that faded/reduced albino. Sweet snake. But that Caramel... oh man if I had had $1200 to spare... And as far as the low price, trust me it wasn't just to make a buck. He has a soft spot for BPs and likes keeping their prices low to let people own those morphs they otherwise never would be able to afford. I got my Het Albino girl from him for $299.

Where were you guys?? I was there at 10:45 till almost 2 and never saw anyone (unless they didn't fully introduce themselves). And I even wore my BP.net button I made!

Well, even though I wasn't supposed to get anything other than frozen rats...you just can't go to one of those shows and come away with nothing. In addition to a CornSnake T-shirt, I brought this home:




Sweet little pink snow corn female for my breeding troupe! Of course, I had to tell Ari (BF) that she was a door prize I won.

Wish I coulda seen you all there!

I got there around 2:30.

Don't get me wrong. I don't mind when people give people really good deals on stuff so that people can afford stuff that they regularly could not (if that's truly why they are lowering their price), but when it is being advertised up front as that much below market price, some people get the wrong idea and think that it's the new market price and lower their prices on their animals. Especially when they have 2 similarly sized Albino males (one faded (pictured) and one High Contrast) right next to it selling for the same price... If the price had been made privately, I think it would have been better.

I wish I had seen you too! I was there from 10 until 1, but I think I have issues spotting people because I am too interested in the reptiles to look up much lol! Next time we should make a plan and meet up together!
