What Lizard?
I was thinking about getting a lizard, but I can't make up my mind. I'm looking for something thats relatively easier for a "beginner" to care for, that wont get too large, and that doesnt mind being handled. Any suggestions?

Re: What Lizard?
Crested Geckos have to be the easiest out there.
Other good beginning lizards that come to mind are Leopard Geckos, Bluetongue Skinks, and bearded dragons.

Re: What Lizard?
I would say Leopard Gecko, Crested Gecko, or Bearded Dragon.
Crested geckos thrive at room temps, and don't have to eat crickets as long as they are fed the Repashy Diet.
The only thing about beardies is as babies they eat, and eat and eat crickets.
So the cricket bill is kind of high until they slow down a bit. If I could just open my wallet and let him eat right out of that, it would work out great, thats basically what he is doing as of now anyway.
However they get a little bigger than your average gecko, a little more tolerant of handling, and are active during the day.
They do require a much larger enclosure as adults than the geckos.

If you want something to handle, get a bearded dragon. If you want something that is probably the least expensive/involved to take care of, get a crested gecko. If you want something in the middle, get the leopard gecko. They all make great pets though!

From what I hear Beardies are one of the best pets you can have. I'm interested in picking one up myself.

I hear ya there. But man oh man what I wouldn't give for one.
I was playing with a full grown the other day at this awesome local pet place and I swear you can train those little guys.
The girl that let me hold him was very knowledgeable hopefully in the next year I'll have a house then I'll have a whole mess of pictures to post
