It's awful in deed. I can't even fathom what they're going through over there.

Definitely crappy for anyone involved... saddest part is this sight will start to become more and more common in the next couple generations as water levels continue to rise... wish there was something I could do for these people.

The first time I saw this it said 400 dead, and I sadly knew that that number would rise much much more. This kind of things are awful

It is sad, but what was said earlier holds true. Our weather patterns are dramatically running off kilter, and are getting more severe by the year. I am trying to desensitize myself because I know I will be seeing more and more of these in my lifetime with Global Climate Destabilization.

Might as well take up skydiving and bull riding, at least that way if theres an accident I will go out with a bang... I hate tragedy, and would couldn't imagine drowning.

This doesn't really have a whole lot to do with climate destabilization. Sooner or later severe storms happen and if it hits an area that can easily be destroyed then these things happen. Very sad indeed but with so many people in the world these things are bound to happen.

Exactly. The biggest problem is the people were not notified that the cyclone was on it's way until it was too late. This is a natural disaster, not a platform for climate change hysteria.

My heart goes out to these people, and I hope the aid is able to reach those who need it most.

    Sad stuff.

If you think about it, there really needs to be a WORLD WIDE coastline warning/evacuation system put into effect for countries at risk to cyclones, hurricanes, and typhoons.

The only reason we do not have those numbers in the US when incidents like Hurricane Katrina happen is our advanced warning systems. Sadly it is the countries that are underdeveloped that suffer.

Anyone who believes this kinda stuff is 'man's fault' because of global warming needs a reality check. Our climate naturally changes over time.....nature is not constant and never will be constant. Don't use a tragedy to push your personal agenda.

I agree. These things have always happened. It's just that further back in history there were far fewer people in the world so it naturally didn't affect as many people and more than a 100 years ago we might not have even heard about it if it happened in a remote area.
