Cage heating

I'm still researching reptile cages but now have a question regarding heating. I've always gone with flex watt for belly heat, but when I get the 6x2x2 cages, I'll need something to bump the ambients up in such an enclosure. I thought a RHP would be terrific and thought I would have to couple it with cable or flex watt. Is this so?
***Do boas require belly heat or is over head heat from a RHP just as good?***
Also, regarding flex watt versus cable~ any opinions as to which might be better (longer lasting, etc.)

OOoo, this is something current in our lives. Chris is building a 6 x 2 x 2 as well, and we decided to go with radient heat panels. I forget the size... perhaps tonight I'll ask him.

I forgot to add that I'm thinking a 100w RHP for a 6x2x2 given the fluctuating temps here...

Sorry I can't be any help here, I don't have any personal experience with RHPs at all. From what I've heard they are the ideal tool for larger enclosures like the ones you've picked out!
