    Got my python sexed today

I went and got my ball python sexed today. It's a male like I thought. Had the guy at the pet store probe it for free instead of going and paying $20.00 at the vet.

I haven't noticed that pet stores are very competent when it comes to sexing- or anything else.
If you really want to know the sex of your snake either pop it yourself or take it to a vet. If you really don't care and just was curious, then congrats on your boy!

I watched him probe it and it went in about 6-8 scales so it must be a male.

    Hi,

Just in passing - did you take the opportunity to get him to teach you how to do it yourself?

It's one of those things that is easiest to learn safely with supervision so you get the feel for the amount (very, verry little) of pressure needed etc and is a great skill to have in your arsenal.
