Re: raleigh show and my pick-up

I'm going to assume that you know he has some mouthrot on his lips and they will need to be treated. It's not hard to get rid of, it just needs some attention.

Also, if you haven't kept adult males before be careful when you're menstruating around him.

    Seriously.

I know of more than half a dozen long term female keepers who were injured by iguanas they had had for years when they were hormonally flush, as it were.

    Otherwise, nice looking lizard.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

I don't think they got the male iguana, I think that was just one of the animals at the show, from what I see they only picked up the ball python. That Iguana does have some bad mouthrot though.

Yeah, the iguana was not mine, and I did not buy him, he was a rescue and he was at the Triangle Iguana Rescue's booth. They pointed out that he had either mouthrot or had injured his mouth, apparently the lady who had him before kept him in a tank with a screen top and he rubbed his nose against it.

Thanks for the words of caution though, I appreciate it. And while iguanas are beautiful, I do not think they are my thing at all.

Yes, the ball python is what I picked up.
