I had a litter born on 4/17/08 Just wondering how old befor they can breed? and should I remove them from there mother now? there eyes are open and there running around *still with mom and dad*

Generally 16 weeks old before they should be bred! They can breed earlier, but it is not the healthiest thing to do.

I would wait another week. Rats are weaned between weeks 3 and 4.

They're only 2 weeks old. Not anywhere near old enough to be weaned.

Also, are you planning in doing back to back breedings? Mom should be having another litter in the next week if you did not remove the male and she was bred.

I did'nt remove the male so she might have another litter soon.

And you're going to wear her out before you know it, resulting in small litters, weak pups/mother, and possibly death of either if the mother doesn't have enough energy to even birth a litter..

Give her a break after every litter..
