    Ceramic Heat Emitters

Quick question for a friend of mine that has an adult iguana and uses ceramic heat emitters (I've no personal experience with this type of heating).

She would like to order a 150 watt one oneline and needs a recommendation for a good, reasonably priced supplier. I've done a bit of googling and found that Big Apple Herp sells one that is black in color and apparently has a greater surface to emit heat from. Is this a gimmick or a good product that is better to use than the more standard white colored heat emitters?

If you use ceramic heat emitters and have a preferred supplier I'd love to be able to pass that information on to my friend. Her one and only local pet store (she lives way up in northern Michigan) rarely gets them in and the last one she purchased was defective.

I used to buy mine from there http://www.reptilesupply.com/index.php?cPath=30_70, best price I ever found online.

Also keep in mind they last a long time!

Thanks so much Deb. Even with shipping I think that site's prices beat what she's paying at her local and only pet store. Most of the time they are out of stock there or defective (that has happened more than once) and since she does iguana rescue she wants to have extra's put aside.

I purchase many of my supplies from the Bean Farm. They are honest and ethical herp enthusiasts and also provide quality products at a good value.

    Re: Ceramic Heat Emitters

Thanks so much for that link. They show they are temporarily out of stock on the size she needs (150 watt) but I'll certainly send this link to her as well.

She's just getting used to the idea of getting her reptile supplies online. It's so helpful to get recommendations from folks here as to what supplier they've used and been pleased with.
