    Follicle question

I have an 1885 gram het pied female who's been with a 770 gram het pied male for a few months now and I have yet to see a lock up.Not even courting.
I can palpate 4 follicles in her right now. They feel about marble size. This is the first time I have been able to feel them.
Correct me if I'm wrong but follicles don't mean she was bred right?Do female grow follicles without a male?
Will this make her receptive to the male?
At this time I have them seperated for feeding. The male ate and the female refused. She hardly ever refuses.
I'm thinking I should leave him digest a few days then put him with her again.
F.Y.I.this is my first attempt at breeding balls.I'm mainly a rat snake guy.So any info. would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

    Re: Follicle question

Just cause your not seeing a lock doesn't mean they aren't being sneaky, Keep pairing them up and see wht happens. Folicals do not mean she has been bred but it does mean that she is receptive your boy may just be lazy. Her not eating is a good sign just keep at it. Is she glowing ?

They can, to answer the first question. It seems you may have the second question worded backwards. Males will typically be more interested in a female that has larger follicles. I have used some of my great breeders on a female to get her to start develpoing follicles, only to put a less aggressive breeder after she has started developing. Alot of times this works great to get a stuborn breeder male to get interested in a specific female.

    Hope that helps,
