Cleaning day, switched to paper towels

I just cleaned out the tank and discovered just how much BPs really do poo/pee! I was using nature bark so it was hard to tell where it needed spot cleaning. I found a poop (possibly 2) and some urate and was convinced that I needed a change of substrate. I threw in 2 layers of soft paper towels. At least now I'll be able to see exactly when/where it needs to be spot cleaned! As for disinfecting the enclosure, I used a 50/50 solution of water/ cider vinegar, which is what I've always used when cleaning glass/windows/mirrors. After thoroughly wiping out the vin/water solution I did another wipe down with regular water. Does that sound good? I dont have any bleach so I thought the 50/50 solution was the next best thing.

Try chlorhexidine. It is harmless to the snake, kills bacteria, and you don't need to rinse. Good stuff

I dont think rinsing after the 50/50 solution was really necessary, but it helps to get the vinegar smell out of there lol

where can you get chlorhexidine for cleaning? pet store? online? thanx.

To OP, I have my only bp in a tank at the moment, but as soon as my rack arrives, he will be living in there. Seems easier for mainting than a tank.

Im also very pleased to find that the humidity is so much better with the paper towels. With the nature bark it was hard to keep humidity above 45%, even after misting. Now about an hour after switching to paper towels the humidity is at a steady 60%
