Might get some new, big additions..
Well... my friend offered me, her two adult female BCI today! I am thinking of saying yes. She unfortunately, has them living together in a 150g tank. This would stop at my place. I want to put them into individual tubs. So.. any suggestions on tub size for adult BCI? I was thinking, the big tubs that you can store XMas trees in..
These are BIG snakes! The larger one is about 7-8-odd feet (this is big in my terms; my largest snake is my adult BCI male who is about 5'.) Both have docile temperaments and I have handled both; no complaints there. And my husband agrees that it'd be cool to have them.
I do think that it'd be cool to venture into breeding, once these girls were quarantined. Maybe next season?
Just some thoughts!

I am also thinking of maybe making a cage out of the bottom shelf of our 125G tank. See, it is hollow under there, and opened on one side. I think that it'd make an awesome footprint for one of the girls to have a nice home in it. I am thinking of sliding front doors as well.. time to think, plan and that fun stuff!

Sounds like fun... if I were presented with the same opportunity, to have two adult boas, I would either build large cages or just buy some nice ones made for that specific purpose.

AP has nice 6x2x2 cages that I have my eye on for my boas. I'd get the heat cable and also a RHP to keep the ambient temps up. I'll get the shelf for them to climb and thermoregulate on and also will get the glass sliding doors cause a boa will pop out the plexi doors. They are not cheap and shipping is a bear, but they are great and given the number of years a boa will live in one I'd say it's pretty cheap real estate ~this is how I presented it to my hubby!

My Sonja is about 8ft and 25lbs now and lives in one of those Xmas tree tubs. She does fine and has room to stretch out. Definitely getting her one of those 4x2 cages when I have the money though, just for the extra room.
Maybe look around for some display cases that someone is selling. Those work well and would look nice.

What side does it open on? Some shelves open on the back, but they need a solid front panel for structural support.
