    Funky pose

Well, a few times in the last week and a half I've caught my normal adult female Matika in a weird position. She's been off feed since November, then fed twice for me just recently---but she's glowing, had a male put in with her (no copulations or ovulations observed) but now...this? O.o I'm not sure what's going on. I observed her bowl wrapping and sticking to the cool side for months, but now she's back in her comfy hot spot coiling up...with her belly to the sky!

Is she just being weird, or complaining cause I made her feel bloated from the food? XD I thought it was the latter, the first time since it was right after her meal, but she's empty tonight!

Thoughts? Empty weight as of two days ago is 2134 grams. I stopped putting my male with her and raised temps when I noted weight loss from 2100 to 1800g, and in the two feedings (one refusal) since, she seems to have...O,o regained it? I'm not sure what's going on. She hasn't been with the male for a month and a half, and is behaving normally aside from this...well...sans her usual nightly "I'm trying to escape" pacing.

P.S. Sorry for crappy pics, webcam. Also, she's going into shed. Pink belly!!! Could that be it?

I'm guessing she's still building follicles. Did you palpate her?

    Cheers,

Jane, no, I haven't tried palpating, since I've never seen it done and am worried about possibly hurting her... ^-^;; I'm a wuss...

I think thats because that may be the only issue with your snake!? Maybe! Lets hope I could not think of anything else that could be an issue. If the husbandry is correct and she eats well and she has no other symptoms I think she is good!
