Went looking for a snake and found this...

He was hopping right outside our kitchen door. We have a lot of wild traffic just outside our house. Though I didn't find a snake, this guy is one of the cuter toads I've seen around here. The pictures don't quite do him justice. His back was yellow/orange/tan and his legs were green with black stripes. Some kind of leopard-leg toad??? I have no idea.

Figures. We don't have anything too exotic around here no matter how much I keep hoping. But we do have foot-long worms! I call them the "scaleless earth-snake." I looked up worms and found out that there are some (ELSEWHERE, of course) that get up to 3'!

Cool! I love toads. My husband brought one home that he almost ran over (let it go in the garden.).. Looks like a nice American toad.

I live with my mom still, and at first she was totally weirded out by them, but now I'll come home and she'll tell me "Oh your snakey guy was creeping around today!"

Did you ever find your king snake? Was your mom freaked out that he escaped?
