Another shed thread
Last night I noticed that my BP had finally begun to shed. This is his first shed since I've owned him. He had gotten it off of his head, but that is as far as he seemed to get it. After awhile I decided to soak him, and then give him a rub down with a wet towel. I think I may have rushed to help him a little, will that cause any harm?
After 45 minutes of pulling shed off piece by piece I started to hear him exhale, and noticed he was breathing pretty heavily. I assume it is from all the energy he is using to try and shed, but I'm no expert. I got the shed to come off except for about the last third of his body. I was exhausted, and so was he, so I called it a night. He went into his cool side hide and chilled out the rest of the night.
My humidity is always in the mid 50's, and there is a large water dish in his enclosure. What would cause the shed to be so terrible? After his is blued should I have bumped my humidity up to the 70's? I'm not really worried, I just feel bad that he couldn't shed in one piece. Help a newb out!

He'll get it.
Furio got most of his off then waited for the last couple inches and took a break and waited a couple hours. Then with the perfect shed behind him he felt the need to thrash and rip it into about 70 pieces... was gonna keep it! Little bugger!

It was coming off in pieces, its not like one complete piece is worked all the way down to his tail.

Re: Another shed thread
For those that read this, here is an update!
I checked on him the next evening and he had pretty much worked the rest off in a few large pieces, and then readily took a mouse. So how do I get a proper shed next time? Should I bump the humidity up when I notice his eyes blue?
