When you say breathing hard, this means that the presence of the mouse was `stressing` the snake out.
what weight is it and when was the last time it fed?

    Have you offered rats...?
Another method is to rub the scent from a chick to a rat or mouse, this can sometimes entice them.

Have you got atleast 2 hides in?
One method is to scrunch up some newspaper into balls and place in bottom of the enclosure, Sounds silly, but it reduces stress as the snake feels hidden when it comes out of its hides.

Re: feeding my bp somone help.

If you've only had your snake for a week it is most likely still acclimating to it's new home. Also, attempting to feed too frequently is stressful for a snake. You should probably wait at least 5 days between attempts.

How much have you/are you handling your snake? One of the best things for you to do is to leave it alone as much as possible while it is acclimating. Also, some snakes feed better in their own enclosure, so depending on the substrate this could be another option for you.

Details on your husbandry will help the forum help you too.

Re: feeding my bp somone help.

I agree with snakerpro. Generally when you bring a new snake home, you should give it a minimum of one week to "settle in". You are correct Chaving that the change in "scenery" is stressing the snake out. Moving a snake from it's enclosure, especially when it has only been in his/her new home for a short time, is very stressful for it and would very likely cause a refusal of food as in this case.

Now that you have tried once this week, give your snake 5-7 days of NO handling (with exception to cleaning the enclosure if necessary) and plenty of privacy (news paper balls work well, but when you remove them do it one ball every couple days. Also be sure your enclosure is covered on at least 3 sides)

Also, be sure that if you do try f/t again, that is nice and warm when you present it to your snake (not to insult you but do not microwave it lol, thaw at room temp or in a baggie in a cup of warm water, then warm it up with a hair dryer or under a lamp for a few minutes) Your snake will sense the prey by it's temperature.

Don't worry, your bp will eat eventually, just be patient. Would you want to eat if you were kidnapped, flown to another country, shoved in a small box with food you had never seen before? I know its silly sounding but it makes sense.

Re: feeding my bp somone help.

Feed at night (10PM or later) with the lights almost totally out, and don't remove the snake from the enclosure when you are first trying to get it to eat. This is stressful for the snake.

Just give it some more time to itself.
