Largest docile snake

I'm thinking about adding to my collection. And I am leaning toward a larger snake. I was wondering what you guys thought the most docile large snake was so I can start my search.

Depends on the animal itself.

Burms and Retics can be very docile if you know what you are doing...

My choice is still any of the larger carpet pythons. Costals, Jungles, Centralian (bredli) all get between 7-9 ft (some female coastals can reach 10ft) but are not as heavy bodied as the burms and retics.

Though they may be a bit temperamental when young, all of the above carpets calm down quickly and make great pets.

Olives or Boelens are generally docile and large as adults.

Probably Burms. There's an animal show here and they have the most tame Burmese python. The 8-footer serpent is fine with children touching it and doesn't seem to mind adults holding it. Albino Burms look really nice too (the one I told you about is albino and has the colors of corn [yellow and white]) and since they are one of first kinds of snakes to be bred in captivity albinos aren't too expensive.

Given that you understand that a lot of this depends on the individual animal's personality and not a generalization about the species as a whole, I would have to say Burms or retics...at least a direct answer to your question what the largest docile snake was.

I'll look into the Burms. What are some differences between Burms and Carpets/Costals/Jungles? Also I've read that Retics can be mean.

I forgot to mention that while I am looking for a very large snake, I also want one that would be safe to handle without a spotter. Where exactly is this line drawn?
