    Im Confused as Can Be???

About a month ago Kingsley had a small scale rot issue from to much moisture on his substrate. I changed out the coco husk for paper towels and kept everything dry as a bone. Humidity was around 38% back then. It has cleared up since but now he's on Aspen bedding and the humidity is usually around 50%. I took him out today to give him a look over and I noticed that one of his eye caps has a small dent in it. This is usually a sign of too dry of conditions but Im sooo confused. When he was in a basically desert environment he never had any problems but now that everything seems perfect he gets a dent?!

Maybe he bumped it on something? If it were me, I'd just keep an eye on it and see if it clears up with the next shed. I'd make sure fresh water was available at all times and maintain the humidity you've described.

Will a small dent go away before a shed?

Re: Im Confused as Can Be???

Just an update: I put a humid hide in his viv to see if that would help the dent. Well today I checked him out and it's gone! But he hasn't left the humid hide, Im pretty sure hes not about to shed and I don't want him getting belly rot again from the damp moss. Should I just take out the humid hide since the dent went away.

If your concern is repetition of the rott, then reduce the humidity of the hide itself and continue to monitor. I'm very glad to hear that the dent went away!
