    *bleepin* MITES!!!

Ok, so I came home from work today and went to check on my bp, Bella to see if she had shed. What I didn't find was a shed. What I did find was a mite crawling on her eye.

Thankfully, I already have some PAM at the house from recently treating my friend's boa. So, onto my questions...

    1. She is about to shed. Like, she's out of blue and will be shedding either tonight or tomorrow. Should I wait until after shed to take her out and PAM the enclosure? I really want to do it ASAP, but I didn't know if it would be safer to wait than risk getting PAM residue on freshly shed skin. (I know it will be dry before putting her back in the tub, but I'm still concerned...)

    2. Are mites able to be transmitted to a bearded dragon? My snake's tub is literally right next to the beardie's tank. If it's possible for the beardie to get them, I was going to PAM his tank too, just to be safe...

Any answers you may have would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can do it now... PAM will stay on the animal even after shed.

Beardies, I'm not sure... I am pretty sure the mites are Snake Mites, so host specific. Just keep an eye out.

Thanks for the quick response Heather. I'll definitely be looking out. I figured it would probably be safe, but I want to make sure it doesn't irritate the soon-to-be fresh skin. I'm going to wait a little while to hear any other responses as well, so anyone else, feel free to speak up too!

Ditto to what Heather said..... Why?.... Because Heather said it and she has a lot of experience and she knows and she if she was 'supposing' she would have said so.....so, what are you doing still reading this???
    Go use the PAM!!

Umm... I'm hungry and have to cook dinner first. So, I figured I'd PAM after I eat. So, I'd say we've got about an hour for any more responses...

Take care of your snake first- then eat. Man, I'm cleaning poo and pee before coffee in the morning because I feel way too guilty if I'm chillin and they're not taken care of. They count on me like yours is counting on you

Okay- had enough with the mom talk? Yeah, my kids feel the same way sometimes!!
