wiring & flexwatt
My 12q rack is all built, I am just waiting for the flexwatt & herpstat to come in the mail (bean farm informed me yesterday they are out of herpstats and wont be able to ship my order until sometime next week)
Anyway i was wondering if someone could help me out.
I have seen where people have each level wired to its own plug so if its not in use it can be unplugged.
I have also seen them wired in parallel.
can I wire a few singly, and wire a few sets in parallel? That way i can use the rack without wasting electric no matter if I have 1 or many baby balls?
I hope this makes sense LMAO. if need be, I can draw up a diagram on paint.
Here's my rack, almost finished. I am going to iron on the edging tomorrow and like I said I have to wait for the flex and herpstat. I was so annoyed that when i ordered it, it didnt tell me it was out of stock. Had i known that, I would have went to reptile basics.
Oh and the back is only on by a small handful of screws until the flex comes in, i will take it off to make installing it easier. Our tools are in the tubs for now, no sense putting them away until this and the next rack is finished. Its a pain to put them away in the crawl space.
home depot did a good job with all the cuts. only one piece wasn't perfect, its a lil smaller than the rest but oh well im not complaining, they didnt charge me for ANY of the cuts.
Oh and LOL @ the paint on the bottom of the wall, it's missing due to my GSD's mega spiked collar LOL he rubs against the wall as he lays down.
<--- pats herself on the back. not bad for a woman aye?

Re: wiring & flexwatt
Short answer is yes...but IMO you need to keep the same number of levels wired to each plug. So lets say you have a 10 level rack. You could put each level on its own plug. You could put two levels per plug for 5 plugs total or you could put 5 levels per plug for 2 plugs total. Also since you will only have one T-stat probe I like to use a different color cord on the set that has the T-stat probe on it. For me I use a green cord for the T-stat probe level then brown or white for the rest. This way I know if the green cord is not pluged in then you are no good. As long as the green plug is plugged in you should be good to go!
