    Hypomelanistic Fasle Water Cobras

    ,,,

The large one is a hypo female but sort of what I'd call a C grade hypo because she still has a good deal of black.

The others are true hypos with one that may well be a super hypo. They do get lighter with each shed.

I am getting some now with a serious green tinge and others with a lot of yellow and some that have a good bit of orange. Too many to keep.

Next year I'll be breeding hypo to hypo for the first time, maybe even late this year. That will be interesting.

I'd like to see what an albino FWC looks like, it would be stunning.

These snakes are rear fanged but I don't consider them as true hots. I have only had one good bite in all the years I've been keeping them. I got bite on the finger, a feeding bite, my hand swelled, sort of burned for a little while, and a week later, was back to normal. I've heard other stories about how bad the bite is but never from anyone I would trust not to embellish.

False Water Cobras think. They watch you watching them, the consider what they are doing, they know the people around them. They have one of the fastest and hardest feeding responses I've ever seen. They love to climb and are fearless. They are excellent display snakes. They are not aggressive, but are VERY fast and quite strong.

I'll post more pics when I take some, these are a few months old.

Those are fantastic looking snakes. I saw one locally at a show, but I had always heard the venom is comparable to a copper head. I don't think many people at the show new what they were looking at.

I'm looking forward to what a hypo x hypo cross will do, perhaps clean it up.

Here's a few of the adults. The lone fatty is a nice hypo that should be laying soon and the other two are a het and my anery male. I haven't bred him into this line of hypos yet so those babies will be interesting to see. He has no brown on him at all.

The first clutch of the year is out. 27 good and 2 duds. These are out of my best hypo female bred to the hypo male. With any luck there may be some super hypos in this bunch.
