candled
I candled my eggs today and all were fine except one. This egg has veins on half of it and was probably the last one laid cause it was out of her coil. My question to all you experienced breeders do you think this egg will hatch or die?

Emilio if you see veins in my opinion it sounds like a little one is inside. It will be fun to see it hatchout .Keep us posted

Re: candled
My rule is........ if even remotely possible that it could hatch, incubate it. If you see veins, it's a sign of life so I say go for it. You just never know.
Cheers,
Kat

Re: candled
A couple breeders have told me they've seen this before I'm not that worried anymore. Hopefully everything will be fine.

Re: candled
I posted this on KS a couple of weeks ago - I had a clutch from a WC girl that looked good but when candled about half of them glowed yellow - I figured infertile / dead - but stuck them in the incubator anyway - a week later they still looked good - I candled them again and found some faint veining inside of them and little blotches of some sort - about 2 weeks in they started to deteriorate and eventually they all died. I'm told that the Barkers book addresses this in their book as a fertile egg that wasn't able to form a proper veining system - or something like that.

Re: candled
Yeah, I would continue to incubate it until it is obviously dead.
Sounds like there may be a chance, so let it happen!!

Emilio,
I wish I had seen this thread earlier, as I was going to tell you that I have hatched plenty of eggs that started out with just a trace of veins. Typically, if the egg is not yellow colored (like Tosha mentioned), but has a few veins, you will be able to watch the veins multiply and grow over the next couple weeks.
Congratulations on the egg doing well from you, and I hope you hatch something special from that egg.
