    Questions on water system

I'm getting tired of water bottle leaks, and the spring loaded bottles aren't cheap. So I want to find out more about a water system with those neat little nozzle:

    1. I read that you guys always take precaution to make sure they don't clog up. But do they have leakage problem?
    2. I have a rack with 15 tubs, how much would it cost me for a system?

    Thanks for any input.

It cost me roughly 78$ for 10 tubs, so I would suspect an even 100, depending on how much tubing you need and what equipment you buy.

I haven't had too many clog up from the inside. I use city water that I add some bleach too. On the other hand, I have found that sometimes aspen or bedding will clog the sipper and cause a flood in the tub. But, I use the pellets and it looks like the rats were terra forming when I find it.

My rats are visited at least once a day, and any leaks are noticed right away.

    Re: Questions on water system

I have been using the Edstrom Flextubing system for about a year (this is just the name of the auto watering system most use). Like Connie said you don't get a lot of leaking except when the rats/mice push bedding up in the valves and the drip leak...but I too check mine daily so any issues are caught quickly (and in a year of use I could count on 1 hand how many times it has happened).

I buy all my stuff from www.bassequipment.com it will cost you about $5 per tub ($3.25 for the value - then a stand off and "T" joint + tubing). You will need a bucket with a tank connector to hook the tubing to)

    Hope this helps.
