2 Young BP in same tank?
I am possibly going to be getting a new bp tmrw at the reptile show. I was wondering that assuming the new bp is healthy could I keep it in a tank with another bp the same size temporarily?
0.3 Normal, 1.1 100% Het Albino, 1.1 Yellowbelly, 1.1 Mojave
1.0 50% Het Axanthic, 1.1 Hypo, 1.0 66% Het Clown, 0.1 Black Pastel
0.1 Spider, 1.1 VPI Pastel, 1.0 Reduced Pattern, 1.0 Pinstripe

No, and should never assume that a new BP is healthy.
You MUST quarantine any new animals for at least 30 days (preferably 60 days)
So if you want a second BP get a second enclosure.
If you think there is no risks and you don't have to quarantine a new animal entering your collection think again by reading this story http://pinkladyconstrictors.com/?page_id=20

Re: 2 Young BP in same tank?
It's a much better idea to keep them separated. Firstly, you definitely have to quarantine any new snake just in case they have anything like parasites or diseases that aren't initially apparant.
But even assuming that the second snake was 100% healthy, if you house two snakes together, you'll have a very difficult time figuring out which one pooped. Snakes can become stressed very easily, especially when housed together, and stress can cause all sorts of problems.
If one snake is on in the basking area and the other is on the cold side, is that because he just wanted to be a little cooler, or was he ousted by the more dominant snake in the basking area, or vice versa? Is one hiding and the other exploring because that's what they want to do, or are there unseen struggles for dominance?

Re: 2 Young BP in same tank?
Problems from housing two snakes together:
-accidental mating
-one gets sick, they'll most likely both get sick
-one snake will dominate the other (it'll look like cuddling) and the one being dominated will get stressed out which can cause a whole new list of problems
-cannibalism. not all that common but it can happen and it's not pretty when it does
-if one snake regurgitates or has unhealthy looking poo, how do you know which snake it's from?
I'm sure there are other reasons but I can't think of them at the moment. I bought my snakes at Petco where I was told they should be housed together. Once the people on this site clued me in, I separated them immediately and was amazed at how soon I saw a difference. They both started looking and acting healthier. And they grew much faster! Hope this helps!

good to hear you got extra supplies. I would just go down to petco or petsmart even though i despise those places for their poor husbandry techniques. but you can pick up a 10 gal for like 10 bucks that would be perfect for a baby ball. (im assuming its a baby) Then later you can go for a larger enclosure. I have all my balls in 60 gal tanks and they couldn't be happier or healthier. whatever you choose to go with later down the road is up to you a 30 long would be perfect for an adult. well good luck

Re: 2 Young BP in same tank?
Get a Sterilite tub from WalMart and drill some holes in it, put a regular heating pad under it, put newspaper inside it, use a dog bowl for water, make hids out of margarine tubs with holes cut in 'em - all you gotta spring for is therm/hydrometers, a lamp, and a bulb. I converted to a tub with our jungle carpet and it ain't no going back when you need it simple! Oh, and use heavy duty large binder clips around the top to prevent escapes.
And CONGRATS on getting a snake. Cool to know you are going to do it before you even get there!!!
