housing a male and female together? also fact or fiction feeding f/t

    Hi everyone,

I now have a female normal ball, Bonnie, I bought her with the intention of eventually housing her with a male (Clyde ) What do i need to take into consideration before putting a male snake in with her? She is still an adolescent, Would it be only a stress factor, or might it make her more comfortable?

I bought her late November (captive bred) and think she had hatched early September haven't had any issues I started feeding her frozen, and wasn't having a good response when I tried it at home, so then I fed her live for a while, (much rather feed frozen) so I tried the pre-scenting method, which works like a charm! Although recently I was discouraged again to feed frozen, because I heard freezing mice will kill off any B vitamins The snake would get from eating Live. Is this true? ..i'm sure i can just dip it in some supplement or something right?

    thanks for reading!

I realize now after reading more that unless breeding that you shouldn't house two snakes together..so i'm sure some of you folks are tired of answering that one (my apologizes) Still..... Has anyone heard that freezing mice will kill off whatever B vitamins the snake would get from eating live? And what do B vitamins do for the snake?

I've had success feeding both FT and live. I don't really see the arguement for either way nutritionally as each has it's pro's and cons, but in either case, many thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of snakes in captivity have done well with FT.
