    skin problems!

i recently bought a young ball python, my first. Just recently i've noticed he has been developing patches of skin with no scales.(are they falling off?) I've been watching it and the bald patch seems to be growing. I found a mite on him today but can't seem to find any others. Could mites be causing all the damage or is it a disease? Will he have problems with shedding? Is there anything i can do? Any information or suggestions for this problem will be greatly appreciated.

That sounds serious. Scales should not just be falling off. I would get him to a vet immediately before he developes a serious infection. In the meantime, give us a very detailed description of your set up, heating, thermometers, thermostats, humidity, substrate, what you feed him, everything.

I would call a Vet immediately.
