Emergency Clutch: Update!

So after house a male and female together during QT do to the lack of tub space I initially had. Somehow my female got prego. She sprung the suprise on my the other night during feeding. To say the least I was shocked. It took me awhile to get an incubator and everything set up and the eggs didn't fare well. I had a hard time keeping humidty jacked for the eggs during the search for an incubator on easter sunday.also I had temps around 92 at the time which I was told was really high for the eggs. So its been 24 hours since they have been placed into the incubator and they look terrible. All i want is some sort of clarification as to weather these eggs are in to bad a shape to survive. I know 2 of the eggs were DOA and one looks really bad. Also they are really dimpled from the lack of humidity I had at first in the moms enclosure.



Not looking to get flamed. I never expected to have to deal with this so soon. I just hope there is a chance for the babies sake. Any input would be great. Thanks.

Aside from the two really bad ones the rest look like they can be saved. Have you candled them to confirm that they are fertile? If so then they may pop back into shape with some good humidity and temps.

On the bright side if they survive you may get some really neat looking babies from the egg stress.

PS: One more thing I thought I should add - I had an incubator fry one set of my eggs a few years back - if you candle them and there is a huge mass inside - then the yolk may be cooked and the eggs will eventually die.

to me it looks like maybe 2 of those have a shot. Could you get a better pic? I would get rid of the obviously dead ones. They don't really appear to be stuck to the others too badly so it should be pretty easy to get rid of them.

after looking again, I think 2 may have a shot. Just make sure they are set up perfectly. You will know for sure in the next couple of days.

Your vermic looks too wet to me

Its pretty dry to the touch. I measure out 6 cups of verm to 2 cups of water and mixed it. When I pick it up it clumps but doesnt drip water.

Ok so I downsized the container to a random food container I had laying around. Made a new batch of verm. and put it in the container. Somehow i got the 3 really bad eggs seperated and tossed. I have the 3 decent ones left though there is still a lingering smell of death. I got temps at 88 right now and the container they are in is already getting pretty steamy looking. Do I put any sort of holes in the container to let out some of the moisture? I know the eggs getting wet is a bad thing. One of the worse off eggs has a window in it from when the water dish flipped near the mom when I was trying to get her seperated. I also candled the 3 and found no big lump in any of them. I really hope these guys pull through. Thanks for all the help and the help to come. I am hoping in 3-4 weeks the eggs are looking good and somewhat back to normal and ready to rock!
