    Desk mod for snake tank

Are there any snakes that can live in a fairly small space. I've been thinking about this because I'm taking my brothers room and he cant move his desk out. There is a popout door that I want to pop off and put a terrarium like door over the space. (my dad is awsome with plexiglass he does cp mod stuff). The space would be about 6 in wide and 1ft to a foot 1?2 tall. Are there any baby snakes that would be comfortable in there? If not I can take out another section that would make the space 2ft by 1ft tall.
I'll post some pics when I can of the desk.

A male Kenyan Sand Boa could live in that for a while.

Yeah but the whole red 'n yellow, kills a fellow is a bit of a drawback.

    The old standby: Garter snake.

Otherwise, a Kenyan sand or Rosy could live there for a little while...

Taking the door off the desk is really creative. I wouldn't have thought of that, lol :D If you expanded it, I think almost any hatchling would fit quite comfortably. Of course you'll need to get something bigger later...

That's cool about getting a bigger tank later, I just thought the mod would be cool looking.

If you got it to be 2 foot wide by about 16" deep a male ball python would be able to live in it for quite a while considering the 32 quart tub most breeders use to hold adult male ball pythons are 24 inches (2ft) X 16 inches and about 8 inches tall!

Re: Desk mod for snake tank

I am guessing that people are failing to realize something though...
The desk will probably be made of pressed board with a thin layer of wood laminate OR wall paper type wood grain overlay on it..
That will warp, mold and peel with the humidity and spilled water AND snake droppings/urine.
You would do better to create a complete plexiglass tank to fit in there.
